Dirty Bird Waterfoul was founded on a simple principle: most duck hunting advice on the internet is written by people who actually know what they're talking about, and frankly, that's exhausting.
We are a collective of self-taught, wildly confident outdoorsmen who have spent decades in the field arriving at conclusions the hard way, and we believe those conclusions deserve a wider audience.
Our founding members hold firm to a few core truths.
“If black birds are flying, mallards are flying.”
It's basic waterfowl solidarity, and any duck worth its feathers follows the crowd.
“Ducks' favorite food is cocklebur.”
A fact we've never seen written down anywhere but feel strongly about regardless.
“Geese roost in the buck brush.”
Not because we've confirmed it, but because it sounds right and nobody's disproven it yet.
“Chihuahuas are the best duck retrievers.”
An unpopular opinion in some circles, and one we will defend at length to anyone who brings it up, and several who don't.
And above all, we operate by a code of field etiquette that many hunters have sadly abandoned:
“It's common courtesy to sink a boat while passing someone's spread.”
